Seminars: Linderman Library 200

Lehigh University, in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center, is pleased to offer a half-day session demonstrating the use of compiler directives for parallel programming of multi-core CPUs and GPUs. OpenMP has been the widely used and supported standard for programming CPUs; the new OpenACC standard extends this programmer-friendly approach to GPUs. OpenACC finally presents an alternative to the low-level CUDA method. John Urbanic of the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center will lead this seminar.

Following lunch, Michael Chupa (HPC Team Lead) and Stephen Anthony (HPC Support Specialist) will lead HPC at Lehigh and Beyond, a session designed for Lehigh University faculty and students detailing best practices for using Lehigh's HPC resources; opportunities for Lehigh faculty, staff and students on the NSF Xsede platforms will also be presented. All faculty, staff and students using HPC are strongly encouraged to attend this session to aid in planning their use of Lehigh and national computational resources.
