Overview of Multicore computing hardware landscape; Overview of software computing techniques including examples of MPI, OpenMP, and GPGPU languages like CUDA and Open CL.

-- Keynote Address --

John R. Delaney (Lehigh Graduate - Geology 1964): University of Washington - Professor of Oceanography - will talk about the large collaborative NSF grant to place many arrays of real-time widely divergent ocean sensors, from seafloor seismometers to near-surface current meters, and how to deal with large data sets and multi-institutional collaborative research.
